An extreme cold warning is in effect for Muskoka.
Environment Canada officials say the temperature is expected to get down to minus 40 with the wind chill this afternoon. These warnings are released when the temperature is expected to stay below minus 35 for two hours or longer.
Officials say you should stay inside as much as possible and if you have to be outside cover exposed skin. Hypothermia and frostbite can come on quickly when extreme cold hits.
