The Loop to stop running before 2018, Gravenhurst looks for new transit options

Gravenhurst’s transit program is ending, but it’s not the end of the conversation.

The town is shutting down The Loop transit service on December 21st. Town officials were working with Hammond Transportation to offer a public bus service a few days a week. The service ran for six months and officials say ridership numbers weren’t high enough to keep the service running. Gravenhurst Council has voted to shut down the service but is directing town staff to explore other options for a reliable public transportation service.

Town officials are asking for your suggestions on other types of public transportation that would get more use. You can contact the town by calling 705-687-3412 or by visiting the municipal website.
