Bracebridge Brownies learn a valuable lesson in giving back just in time for Christmas

A group of young girls is learning a big lesson in supporting those in need.

On Monday night, the 5th Bracebridge Brownies took a very chilly hike through the community in support of Out of the Cold. The program offers hot meals to Bracebridge residents in need during the winter. Mayor Graydon Smith says it’s important for all members of the community to recognize the importance of this program.

The hiking group was joined by the mayor and councillor Lori-Lynn Giaschi-Pacini as they walked from the Roman Catholic Church to United Church where the meal program is run. Giaschi-Pacini says she’s proud to see these young ladies helping support such an important cause.

At United Church, the girls presented Out of the Cold organizers with hand-made placemats to be used when the meals are served.
