Bell wants to bring more reliability to cell service in Muskoka Lakes.
The company has put in a proposal to the township to build a monopine cell tower along Scarcliffe Road. A monopine cell tower is built to look like a pine tree. The tower would be about 30 metres tall, which would stretch about 15 metres above the current treeline in the area.
According to a report submitted by Bell, the company is hoping to bring more service to Brandy Lake and cottagers along the north shore of Lake Muskoka. Township officials are sending out a notice to nearby residents and Bell will wait about 30 days for any public comments on the project before looking for approval to build from the township.
