OPP reaches out to public for tips in five-month arson investigation in Mactier

The OPP is looking for help from the public in an arson investigation in Mactier.

On June 17th, the Cottage Country Family Diner was gutted by a fire that caused over $500,000 in damages.  The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office was called in by local fire officials who believed the blaze was started on purpose. Five months later the investigation is still going with no new updates, and police are looking to the public to find new evidence.

Police say any information about the fire is valuable and could help lead to an arrest. If you have a tip but you don’t want to give your name you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
