Police are reminding you to clear your car before hitting the road in Muskoka.

Bracebridge OPP officials say the surprise heavy snowfall on Monday is a good reminder to clear all your windows and the top of your vehicle of snow. Constable Samantha Bigley says this safety measure doesn’t just protect you, but the drivers around you as well.

Bigley says choosing to ignore the snow on your car can turn into a $110 fine if you’re caught by police.

She says drivers also need to remember to turn on their headlights during heavy snowstorms so you can easily be spotted on the highway.
