Police are warning drivers to slow down on local roads

High speed and aggressive driving make for a dangerous combination.

OPP Constable Kyle Ney says police now have better tools to tackle the problem.

Anyone caught doing over 50km/hr over the speed limit will be charged with stunt driving. Their vehicles are automatically impounded and licences suspended for seven days. West Parry Sound OPP reports stopping 24 drivers ranging in age from 17 right up to 76, between June and November.

A conviction carries a fine of up to $10,000 and a possible six-month jail term.
