Update: Power has been restored
Nearly 3,000 homes are without power between Muskoka and Haliburton.
Hydro One reports the outage is affecting residents in Lake of Bays and Algonquin Highlands are affected. Officials aren’t sure what has caused this huge blackout. Crews are on the scene trying to fix the problem. Hydro One believes the power should be back on by about 8pm.
