A local award-winning businessman has passed away.
Co-founder of Hammond Taxi and Hammond Transportation owner Orvil Hammond died on November 11th. Mayor Graydon Smith says the Bracebridge entrepreneur had touched many lives in the community with his dedication to his workers and his charitable efforts. He was also given the Tribute to the Industry Founders award in 2010 for his involvement in the Ontario School Bus Association.
Hammond was 88.
