OPP reminding drivers to be prepared for winter road conditions

With snow coming into Muskoka the OPP is reminding you that driving conditions can change quickly.

Constable Dianna Dauphinee says if you haven’t done so already, you need to get your vehicle winter-ready.

She says it’s also important to have an emergency kit in your vehicle. It should include a charged phone, water, non-perishable food, a flashlight, blanket, warm clothes, jumper cables, a shovel, candles, and a lighter or matches.

Dauphinee also says you’ll need to adjust your driving habits for the winter months.

She also reminds drivers to never pass a snowplow, and keep a safe distance when they see blue flashing lights.

If you see bad road conditions this winter you can call the MyMuskokaNow newsroom at 705-645-3079 for South Muskoka and 705-789-4464 for Huntsville and area. Listen to Moose FM for all your winter road updates and bus cancellations.
