Snow is on the way for Muskoka and it could be significant

The first significant snowfall of the season could be on the way to Muskoka.

Environment Canada is warning we’re likely to see about 5 cm of snow falling Thursday night into Friday morning. Barrie is also under a snow squall watch with 15 cm or more expected to fall in the area. Temperatures will make it feel like mid-winter as well as we get down to minus 16 and a windchill making it feel like minus 25.

Officials are warning drivers to be cautious Friday morning as the roads could be dangerous to navigate. The cold weather won’t be moving out of the district until Sunday.

The MyMuskokaNow newsroom is tracking this storm and will keep you updated with any new details that are released.
