Muskoka hasn’t made the cut in the first round of marijuana store announcements.

Provincial officials announced the first 14 Ontario communities selected for the new LCBO-run stores expected to open next July. The closest store to Muskoka would be opening in Barrie. Other locations selected include Sudbury, Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa and Toronto. Muskoka hasn’t fully been ruled out though as the province is still looking for 26 locations for the stores opening in July. The store opening date falls in line with the date the feds have planned to make marijuana sales legal nationwide.

You can keep up to date on the next 26 locations selected here.
