St. Dom’s celebrates 10 years of raising funds for Bracebridge Out of the Cold

For the tenth year, students at St. Dom’s will be homeless for a night.

On Thursday, the school in Bracebridge will run its Teen Homeless Night. Students have to pay $20 or more to spend a night together under the stars. Teacher Lisa Theriault says the event gives students the experience of living on the streets.

Funds raised from this event each year go to benefit the Bracebridge Out of the Cold meal program. The district program offers meals during the winter months to people in need in Muskoka.

Last year students raised over $1,000 and Theriault says in the last nine years, they’ve raised over $9,000 for the Bracebridge Out of the Cold program.
