Moose FM Radiothon brings in over $56,000 for the South Muskoka Hospital

The South Muskoka Hospital Foundation is celebrating a major fundraising milestone.

On Friday, the foundation partnered with Moose FM to hold the annual Hospital Radiothon. Last year the Radiothon raised about $25,000, but this year that amount more than doubled. Foundation Executive Director Colin Miller says he’s amazed by the support from the community.

Miller says the over $50,000 raised will be used to update needed medical equipment at the hospital like patient defibrillators. He says the hospital relies on donations to update equipment because provincial dollars can only be used to pay for operational costs.
