The Bracebridge Public Library is being added to the new arena complex.

Bracebridge councillors voted 4-2 in favour of moving the library from its downtown location. This comes after months of discussion and reviews of various options to update the community service.

Adding the library to the proposed arena complex on Salmon Avenue is expected to be the most cost effective option.

Bracebridge staff will now move forward with putting together an official arena complex design and looking for government funding. There’s no timeline currently set up on when the town plans to start construction on the new complex.

Bracebridge officials plan to actively work on repurposing the old library building once it’s vacant.
