Muskoka Lakes officials still looking for public feedback on rising infrastructure costs

Muskoka Lakes officials want to make sure you have a chance to have your say.
As costs to update roads and public buildings are expected to rise over the next few years, officials are looking to residents for feedback. To avoid significant annual tax increases the township may have to look at other options including closing fire halls and community centres, pulling winter plowing services on certain roads or even abandoning public wharfs. The budget increase for 2017 was 7.96 per cent, which pushed taxes up to $114 on a $100,000 home. An online survey will be open to the public until September 29th. Township officials will be using this feedback to help shape the 2018 budget. You can get to the survey here.
