Have your say on the hospital site discussion in Muskoka

Your feedback is crucial to helping decide the future of Muskoka’s hospital sites.
An online survey is asking if you think Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare should renovate its two existing hospital sites, designate in and outpatient care services at each site or build a new hospital. Officials say with two sites, services like gynecological surgery and chemotherapy would be split between Bracebridge and Huntsville. If the final decision is to build a new hospital, the board would work to find new uses for the old buildings. The survey is open until October 13th.

A Capital Plan Development Task Force created by MAHC will be reviewing public feedback, previous healthcare studies in Muskoka and demographic and population details as it builds a recommendation for the best healthcare model for Muskoka. This recommendation is expected to be presented to the MAHC board sometime next spring.
