It was a busy weekend for both local GMHL teams.
On Friday the Almaguin Spartans beat the Pirates 9-5. While facing the Huskies on Sunday, the team dominated in an 8-4 win. The South Muskoka Shield had a tough regular season start with a 5-2 loss to West Nipissing on Friday. But the boys picked up the pace with a 6-3 win over the Huskies on Saturday. On Sunday, the Shield lost to Bradford 4-2 in the late game. Both Almaguin and South Muskoka will be at home for their games this Friday in the next round of weekend GMHL action.
