James Street reconstruction in Bracebridge to be overseen by local engineering company

Bracebridge is bringing on a local company to oversee a $3 million road rehab project.
Town staff has decided to award a $126,000 engineering contract to Pinestone Engineering Ltd. in Bracebridge. This is to oversee the James Street project.

The town is completely reconstructing the road and sidewalks between Ann and Manitoba Street. Hydro poles will be moved away from the sidewalk as well. The town is also installing a storm sewer to help prevent ice build-up in the winter at the Ann Street intersection. The District of Muskoka will be working alongside town crews to replace the watermain and sanitary sewers along the stretch of road. Work is expected to start next year.

Town officials say reconstruction on the other portion of James between Ann and Mary Street is on the ten-year capital plan.
