Huntsville OPP lays impaired driving charges over the weekend

Two residents have upcoming court dates to answer to impaired driving charges laid in Huntsville. The OPP was called on Thursday night about a driver who had been drinking. Officers found the pickup truck he was driving close to where the call was made. A 49-year-old man is now facing two impaired related charges and has a court date on August 16th.

The second charge was laid around 2:00am on Friday. Officers saw a car idling on Forbes Road, and when they went to check on the driver they allege he had just finished smoking pot in the car. The 22-year-old North Bay man was charged with drug possession, as well as care and control of a car while impaired by drugs. He has a court date next month to answer to the charges.

The OPP says both drivers also had their licenses suspended for 90 days, and their cars were impounded for seven days.
