Water safety statement in effect for the Canada Day long weekend

The MNRF is asking residents of Parry Sound and the surrounding area to keep an eye on water levels this weekend. High water levels and flow conditions are expected through the area.  The ministry is saying forest access roads are at risk of washouts and flooding.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says that 40 mm of rain is expected over the Canada Day weekend. The statement is in effect for Parry Sound, Muskoka and Northwest part of the county of Haliburton.

The MNRF is also asking for people to keep a close eye on conditions. More updates will be issued if conditions change.

More details and a flood map is on the flood forecasting website.
