Two charged after police investigate counterfeit money complaints

Two people have been arrested after police investigated counterfeit money complaints in the Orillia area. The fake US cash was used to make purchases in July and police say there were witnesses and video evidence. A search was done at one of the accused’s house’s and police say they seized some more of the fake money. The United States (US) currency was in $50.00 and $100.00 denominations. A 27 year old Toronto man and a 24 year old Orillia woman have both been charged with Uttering Counterfeit Money, Possession of Counterfeit Money and Fraud Under $5,000 dollars. They’ll be in court September 2nd to answer to the charges.
