Lots to do tonight at Bracebridge Midnight Madness

The largest shopping event in Muskoka returns tonight in Downtown
Bracebridge. The Bracebridge Business Improvement Area (“BIA”) hosts the annual Midnight Madness street festival. The event has been happening since 1982 and it has really evolved over the years from a shopping night to a family fun night. To kick off the night, a local band Bottle Throttle will play and starting at 9pm there will be live music by Bruce Springsteen tribute band Glory Days. Also back by popular demand, the Zero Gravity Circus Performers who will perform a fire show and a circus style act and this will happen throughout the evening.

In keeping with the fun of the Bracebridge Fire Department will be running a dunk tank that will be located at Ontario Street. The kid’s area will continue to be offered in Memorial Park and allows the kids a safe and fun area to play. Kids will have a chance to race each other in our human hamster balls play in the spaceship obstacle course or climb and slide in the giant slide. For the little kids this year we have included an aquarium bounce and slide. There will be a minimal charge for the activities $2 per try, $5 all night or $10 for the family for the entire evening.

To ensure kid’s safety a minimum height restriction will be in place for certain activities plus there will be free activities to keep the younger children amused within the bandshell. It all starts at 6pm and runs until  Midnight. Manitoba Street will be closed to traffic at 3:30pm between Taylor Road and Ontario Street and will reopen at 1:30 am.
