Severn Township man charged for selling contraband cigarettes

A 63-year-old Severn Township man faces charges of possessing and selling contraband cigarettes after he was stopped by police on Highway 12 in Oro-Medonte. At 4:30pm on Tuesday, the OPP and Orillia Street Crime Unit worked together to stop a vehicle they believed was connected to the sale of contraband cigarettes. As a result of the traffic stop, police searched the man and arrested him. Police also found cocaine and OxyContin. He was held for a bail hearing and will appear in Orillia court on August 5th.
