The Huntsville OPP has been busy

The Huntsville OPP has been busy for the past few days dealing with almost 150 calls. Police charged three different people over the weekend for being drunk in a public place, along with one from last Wednesday. Police also say someone has been regularly damaging billboards at LagoonTrailer Park and last Friday someone damaged a golf cart at Bigwin Island. Lastly, the Huntsville OPP charged a driver for driving 50KM over the speed limit on Friday.

Details on each offence:

On August 7, 2014 officers were advised of graffiti on billboards that had been taking place on a regular basis at Lagoon Trailer Park.  There are no suspects at this time; the owners are concerned that their sign is continuously being damaged.

On Friday August 8, 2014 officers were advised of damage to the golf course and a golf cart on Bigwin Island.  There were no suspects or apparent witness at the time of the complaint.

On Friday August 8, 2014 officers observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Highway #11 north of Muskoka Rd #3 north.  The vehicle was stopped for doing more than 50kms hour over the speed limit.  The driver was served a provincial offences court notice had their driver’s licence seized and vehicle impounded.

On Wednesday August 6, 2014 just after 1:00am officers on patrol located a 22 year old intoxicated female on Brunel Rd., she was transported to the Huntsville detachment and lodged for her own safety along with being issued a provincial offences notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

On Saturday August 9, 2014 around 8:00am officers were advised of an intoxicated male sitting on the bench in front of the Metro grocery store.  A 26 year old male from Huntsville was arrested, transported to Huntsville detachment and lodged for his own safety.  He was also issued a provincial offences notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

On Sunday August 10, 2014 just before 2:00am officers located a male staggering on Main St in Huntsville.  Officers were concerned for his safety after he staggered on the roadway arrested him for being intoxicated in a public place.  He was taken to Huntsville detachment lodged for his own safety.  The 39 year old male from British Columbia was issued a provincial offences notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

Just after the previous offence officers located a male urinating into the parking lot, behind the On the Docks Pub.  He was having trouble standing without the assistance of a nearby vehicle.  The 22 year old male from Vaughn was subsequently arrest, transported and lodged for his own safety at the Huntsville detachment.  He was also issued a provincial offences notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
