First possible West Nile Virus case in Wahta Mohawk Territory this year

The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit is testing one person from Wahta Mohawk Territory for West Nile Virus. With all the mosquitoes and rain that we’ve had this summer, the Health Unit suggests that you follow some safety precautions against mosquitoes.  Wear light coloured clothing that cover your arms and legs, use a mosquito repellent, try to stay indoors during dusk and dawn and remove any standing water from your property. Symptoms to watch out for include having a fever, headache, body aches, rashes, nausea or vomiting.  For more information staying protected visit simcoemuskokahealth.org.
