Huntsville will host the 14th race in the IRONMAN North American Series next year.  The triathlon will happen on Sunday August 30th 2015, while the 70.3 will happen on July 5th 2015.  IRONMAN CEO Andrew Messick says IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka has been a premiere race for the IRONMAN brand in the region and they are thrilled to expand their offerings in Canada with the addition of IRONMAN Muskoka. Huntsville will not only host the race next year, but in 2016 and 2017.

Huntsville’s Mayor Claude Doughty says this event is an excellent fit for this community as triathlons provide an ideal way to showcase our beautiful landscape while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle to residents and visitors. He also says the positive energy and attention that this event will bring to the region will be outstanding and the Town of Huntsville is honored to be hosting a world renowned event.

Meanwhile, TriMuskoka President Rich Trenholm says they are ecstatic about IRONMAN Muskoka coming to our community as triathlon has been an integral part of the Huntsville and Lake of Bays community for over 25 years.
