The school year may not be here just yet, but Backpack for Kids is back. Bell runs this local program every year in partnership with local organizations to help collect 200 backpacks for kids in Huntsville and Almaguin Highlands. Each bag will be filled with essential items kids will need for school. Staples Huntsville is providing the school supplies for the bags.
All you need to go is either donate $27 to get a backpack filled or adopt a backpack and fill the bag yourself. Backpacks need to be filled by August 15th. The bags will be distributed through Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka, Children’s Aid Society in Burk’s Falls and Ontario Works in East Parry Sound.
To adopt a backpack or make a cash donation, you can contact Tori White [email protected]. You can drop off the backpack at the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce or Staples Huntsville.
