11th Annual Muskoka Rocks Road Race happens August 3rd

The 11th Annual Muskoka Rocks Road Race happens Sunday August 3rd. Since its inception the race has raised over half a million dollars to send kids to Camp Oochigeas, which is a camp for kids living with cancer in Rosseau. Last year, just shy of 600 runners took part. The event happens at the Peninsula Recreation Centre in Minnett. About 60-70 kids under 12 years old also take part each year in a 1k option which happens at 8:30am. It’s followed by the 10 and 5k races at 9 and 10am. More from Muskoka Rocks Road Race co-organizer Lynn Keane…

There’s a great post-race awards as well with lots of prizes. For more information on how to register, visit www.muskokarocks.ca. You can also register in person between 12:30 and 4pm Saturday August 2nd at the Peninsula Recreation Centre. This year previous race entrants are being asked to wear race shirts from other years. Keane says the goal is to raise money for the camp, but also to provide a family friendly day for the community.
