South Muskoka Shield have new local owners

The South Muskoka Shield have new local owners. PJ Drouillard, Courtney Doron and David Ryan sealed the deal January 24th, buying the team from Ken Girard. Part of the news is Fran Demasi becoming GM of the team, although the ex-pro from Europe will remain with the Bracebridge Phantoms for the remainder of their season also as head coach. The amount of the purchase is being kept quiet. Drouillard says the focus is bringing the Russell Cup back to Gravenhurst. He adds that they want to build a competitive team and a solid hockey program. The Shield play the Toronto Attack tonight.
