New program launched at CNIB Lake Joseph Center in Mactier promotes Braille learning

A new program has launched at the CNIB’s Lake Joseph Center in Mactier to help people learn to read Braille. All Hands on Braille highlights the importance of braille through the arts, science and recreation and launched yesterday. Students aged 8-18 will have an opportunity to build their confidence and skills through one-on-one mentorship, and take part in traditional camp activities such as swimming, cycling, canoeing and bonfires. Our MP Tony Clement says Braille, like print, enables a person to make notes on documents, read a spreadsheet, take minutes at a meeting, file materials and do a variety of other tasks efficiently and independently. The program runs until Friday.
