Huntsville’s annual First Nations, Métis and Inuit celebration coming up

Huntsville is getting ready to celebrate local First Nations, Métis and Inuit culture. The town is hosting is annual celebration on June 21st, which is in partnership with the Métis Nation of Ontario and the Moon River Métis Council.

There is going to be food samples, drinks, music, dance and art at the festival. There will also be a vendor table selling authentic Métis items.

Huntsville’s Manager of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Teri Souter, says the type of activities available, and the variety of events, will educate, enlighten and entertain.

The event will run rain or shine, and the community is invited to come and go throughout the day. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, food, and a water bottle. It’s a free event, and runs from 11:00am to 2:00pm at River Mill Park.
