Parks Canada is opening some of its canal locks near Muskoka this weekend.
Locks in Gamebridge, Couchiching, Swift Rapids, Big Chute and Port Severn on the Trent-Severn Waterway are now open.
Parks Canada officials weren’t able to open the locks during the May long weekend this year because of dangerously high water levels.
Eastern Ontario locks on the waterway are still closed because water levels are still too high.
