Charges have been laid after a boat crash in Ryerson killed two people

The Almaguin Highlands OPP has charged an Oro-Medonte man in connection to a boat crash that killed two people. On June 30th a ski boat hit a pedal boat on Bartlett Lake in Ryerson. McMurrich/Monteith resident Bozena Mercik was in the pedal boat, but died on her way to hospital. The body of her husband, Zdzislaw Mercik, was found a few days later. The 46-year-old driver of the ski boat, Andrew Reid, was arrested Tuesday. He faces a slew of charges including negligence and careless operation of a vessel causing death. The man is in court next month.
