Norm Miller calls newly passed legislation the ‘Unfair Hydro Act’

Norm Miller is calling new provincial legislation the ‘Unfair Hydro Act’.

The Parry Sound Muskoka MPP was one of many PC members that voted against Bill 132, which will bring down residential hydro bills by 25 per cent.

Miller says the issue comes down to the long-term cost to the province.

He says the province needs to stop signing expensive renewable energy contracts that have been causing increases in hydro costs.

Despite the votes from PC members, the Fair Hydro Act was passed today and is expected to kick in on hydro bills this summer.

The 25 per cent drop includes an eight per cent reduction that started in January.
