Armstrong Bridge repairs could bankrupt Burk's Falls says Norm Miller

The Armstrong Bridge in Burk’s Falls needs major repairs and our MPP is looking to the provincial government for help. Norm Miller says the province used to look after the bridge’s maintenance through the Connecting Links program.

If Burk’s Falls has to take care of the repairs, it would cost the village between $1-million and $2-million. Miller says he and council are concerned that this could bankrupt the community.

Miller brought up the issue during Question Period on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Miller says he has been working with Burk’s Falls council and has met with the MTO several times.

Miller says Minister of Transportation, Steven Del Duca, is aware of the issue and is willing to help find a solution. Miller says he’s hopeful that the government will look at current programs that could provide assistance to Burk’s Falls.
