The MPP for Parry Sound and Muskoka is applauding the efforts of a local group to keep Muskoka lakes safe and quiet.
Norm Miller says he is very impressed with the work Safe Quiet Lakes is doing to educate both locals and cottagers on the proper etiquette of boating on lakes and rivers.
He says over the last six years, the volunteer organization has been helping make a difference on Muskoka lakes with education and surveys of local property owners.
Safe Quiet Lakes will be running a special event this weekend in Port Carling in partnership with the OPP to teach boaters the proper use of motor mufflers.
