YWCA uses $75,000 funding to offer new programs to women in Muskoka

The YWCA Muskoka is using a $75,000 grant to offer more to women in the community.
The money was donated by the Ontario Trillium Foundation to open the Gathering Space drop in centre.
Executive Director Hannah Lin says the new centre, which is at the Bracebridge location, and the extra funds will allow the YWCA to try out new programs.
She says they are going to spend the next year getting feedback on drop-in programs like yoga, life coaching and expressive arts like creative writing.
There will also be information available for women new to the area like housing and other local resources.
Lin says the room itself is meant to be a comfortable space for women to be in with couches, free wifi and printer access.
The Gathering Space drop-in centre is open from Monday and Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the 10:00am to 4:00pm.
You can find more information on this new service on the YWCA Muskoka website.
