Port Sydney Beach under an advisory

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has issued an Advisory for Port Sydney Beach. The beach isn’t closed, but the health unit says during an advisory, warning signs are put up on the beach to warn you the water contains levels of bacteria that may increase the risk of developing minor skin, eye, nose or throat infections and stomach disorders. The health unit says if you’re going to swim in the water, you should avoid ducking your head or swallowing the water. The Town of Huntsville says swimming lessons programmed for Port Sydney Beach have been cancelled until the advisory is lifted.
