For 10 days, Muskoka Pride will host a slew of events to promote our LGBT community. One of which are the flag raising ceremonies next week. Marketing and Promotions Manager Shawn Forth says the fight to raise the rainbow flag in Muskoka has been worth it.

The ceremonies will happen on Monday. Forth says it might seem like a small gesture, but raising the rainbow flag is really important.

However, before we get to the flag raising ceremonies, Muskoka Pride will officially kick off Pride Week with the Huntsville Picnic today at River Mill Park. It starts at 4:30pm. Forth says there’s a purpose to events like today’s picnic.
