Find the best trees to plant in Muskoka to help battle climate change

The province is continuing to push Muskokans to plant some trees this spring. The government wants three-million trees planted across Ontario this year, and is calling on everyone to grab a shovel and some seeds.

An online map has also been released, listing the native trees to Muskoka and the best ones to plant in the area. They range from the American Elm to the Sugar Maple.

Forest Ontario has teamed up with the Green Leaf Challenge, to track where the trees are planted in Ontario and keep a rolling tally on how many have been put in the ground.

To see what species of trees are the best to plant in the area, go to the Tree Atlas website.
