Huntsville Fire Department is beginning its fire danger rating for the season

Huntsville residents are now getting up-to-date information on the risk of forest fires. The Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department is now measuring the Muskoka Fire Danger Rating.

Right now, the danger is rated at low. It’s determined by the Fire Weather Index, which looks at humidity, wind directions, and the 24-hour rain fall.

The fire department is asking residents to follow the no daytime burning bylaw, which is in effect until the end of October.
