A list of some of the biggest earners in Muskoka is being released. The 2016 Sunshine List names everyone in Ontario who works in the public sector and makes more than $100,000 a year. The list hit a record this year, as it’s the biggest one to date with more than 120,000 names on it.
In Huntsville, CAO Denise Corry tops the list at just about $144,000 a year. Executive Director of Development Services, Michael Gooch, is next at nearly $126,000. In total, nine Town of Huntsville employees made the list.
Bracebridge’s top earner in 2016 was CAO John Sisson, who brought in just about $144,000 last year. Next is Director of Public Works Walter Schmid, who made around $128,000. Seven employees with the town made the list in total.
In Gravenhurst, the top earner is CAO Glen Davies who makes $186,000 and the second highest earner is Director of Corporate Services Valerian Sequeira, at around $124,000 a year. Six employees with the Town of Gravenhurst made the list.
When it comes to the District of Muskoka, 22 employees made the list. CAO Michael Duben is the highest earner, at just over $200,000 a year.
Other notable high earners include the CEO of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, Natalie Bubela, who made around $244,000 in 2016. The Director of Education at the Trillium Lakelands District School Board, Larry Hope, made $202,000 last year, and the Superintendent of Education for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, Jane Dillon-Leitch, pulls in $241,000.
The top earner in all of Ontario is the President and CEO of Ontario Power Generation, Jeffrey Lyash who made over $1.1 million in 2016.
