Police recover 2nd body from Bartlett Lake

Almaguin Highlands OPP have recovered a second body from Bartlett Lake. They made the discovery today as their investigation into a fatal boating collision that happened Monday at 6:45 pm continued.

A red and black ski boat was being operated on the lake when it struck a pedal boat.  A female in the pedal boat was rescued by the operator of the ski boat and brought to shore where she was transported to hospital by Parry Sound Emergency Medical Service (EMS).  The female died on route to hospital from her injuries.

A search of the lake  continued and today the second body was recovered. The two deceased are 58 year old Bozena Mercik and her husband 80 year old Zdzislaw Mercik of McMurrich/Monteith Township. The OPP is continuing to investigate the collision and would like to remind all boaters to wear their personal floatation device at all times.
