Muskoka officials want to see a change in the way sexual assault reports are being addressed by the OPP.
Last week Tony Clement met with Mayor Graydon Smith, Mayor Scott Aitchison and local sexual assault workers.
Smith says this meeting gave him the chance to learn more about how groups like Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services can help police review these reports.
The Philadelphia Model is a method that partners police with sexaul assault workers to help women who have reported an assault.
Smith is calling this the first of many steps to find new ways to bring down the reportedly high rate of sexual assault cases that have been called unfounded by the OPP in Muskoka.
