New report says economy could lose close to $19 billion due to low water levels
A new report says low water levels on the Great Lakes could cost our economy close to 19 (B) billion dollars. The report from the Council for the Great Lakes Region was released yesterday morning and Executive Director and Founder of Stop the Drop Colin Dobell explains what the report found.
Dobell says having these numbers is important for organizations like Stop the Drop to have something concrete to show to people and to governments to help make changes. He says the numbers alone won’t get governments to move on the issue, but they also need the strength of people who use and liv eon the lakes to voice their concerns.
