Thousands of voters in our riding didn't get a voting card

Some voters in Parry Sound-Muskoka didn’t get their voting cards. The Almaguin News reports that Elections Ontario said Canada Post changed mailing addresses in many rural areas, which cause many of the cards to be returned to sender. About 1,600 were corrected and sent back out, but they didn’t have time to get to all of them. The paper also reports Canada Post is denying the error was on their end. Elections Ontario does say you don’t need the card to cast your ballot. You just need your ID and proof of address handy.

Meantime, if you haven’t gone out to vote yet you have until 9pm tonight to do so. If you’re not sure where to vote in Muskoka or Almaguin, you can call Elections Ontario at 1-866-532-3169.
