Local MNR officers want anglers to obey the law this season. They say most understand and follow Ontario’s Fishing Regulations, but every year they see some common violations that can be easily avoided. One is fishing during closed times. It’s an offence to even attempt to catch a fish during the closed season for that fish, even if you’re planning on releasing it. Please refer to the Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary or contact your local MNR office if you have any questions.
