Crime Stoppers helps to lay almost 400 charges in 2016

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe Dufferin and Muskoka is continuing to crusade for public safety. The anonymous tipster service is releasing its 2016 statistics, which looks at things like arrests, charges, and cases cleared.

Last year, 283 cases led to 183 arrests and almost 400 charges laid. Over 1,800 new tips were sent in, as well as more than 2,500 follow up tips.

Crime Stoppers also helped police to recover just over $1.15 million worth of property and illegal drugs.

Over $22,000 in reward money was also handed out last year. Tips can be submitted over the phone at 1-800- 222-TIPS (8477), or online at Tip Submit.
