Lake of Bays continuing to push for an ambulance service in the township

Bob Young is continuing his crusade for an ambulance service in Lake of Bays. The township’s Mayor says the closest stations are either in Huntsville or Bracebridge, depending on exactly where the patient is located. He says that means it can take half an hour for an EMS team to reach a patient.

Young says he often hears Lake of Bays doesn’t need its own ambulance service because there aren’t enough calls for service. However, he says it’s not about the numbers.

Young says he is going to continue to push the District of Muskoka to help fund a station in Lake of Bays, and already has a few ideas in mind as to where it could be built.
